VelvetCell Privacy Policy · Updated 2026-08-05

A short note on your data.

VelvetCell does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

VelvetCell is an offline game of FreeCell patience — thirty hand-picked deals played across eight columns, four free cells and four foundations. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.

I · Collection

Information we collect

None. The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or any other personal detail. There are no accounts and no sign-in of any kind. The player name you can set on the Record screen is a label for your own progress and never leaves the device.

II · Storage

What lives on your device

For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:

None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.

III · Permissions

What the app asks for

The Android manifest declares exactly one permission, android.permission.INTERNET, and the app never uses it — it is the default for Flutter projects and there is no networking code anywhere in this one. No other Android permission is requested. The iOS build declares no usage-description strings at all, because it asks for no runtime permissions: no camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or notifications.

IV · Network

What goes over the wire

None whatsoever. VelvetCell is entirely offline — no HTTP client, no sockets, no WebView, no remote configuration, no cloud save, no leaderboard, no advertising calls. Each deal is shuffled on your device from a seed number, and the solver that produces hints runs on your device too.

V · Third parties

Who else is involved

No analytics SDK, no advertising network, no crash reporter and no attribution framework are integrated. The packages the app ships are storage and interface only: sqflite for the local database, plus flutter_animate, gap, collection, intl and share_plus. The single moment another app becomes involved is the Share button on the Record screen: tapping it hands one line of text to your operating system's share sheet and you pick where it goes. Nothing is shared unless you tap it, and the app is never told what you chose.

VI · Children

Younger readers

VelvetCell is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information and transmits nothing off the device, it does not knowingly or unknowingly gather data from children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR-K). There is no profile to create, no messaging, no user-generated content and no way for players to reach one another.

VII · Your rights

What you can do

Everything the app knows about you sits in a single SQLite file inside its own private storage on your device, and nowhere else. Uninstalling VelvetCell, or clearing its storage from the system settings, deletes that file and everything in it permanently. There is nothing held on a server for us to export, correct or delete on your behalf, so there is no request to make and no waiting period.

VIII · Revisions

Changes to this policy

If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
