Zotabet
Zotabet is an envelope-budgeting app that keeps your monthly envelopes, spending entries and repeating payments in a database on your own phone. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Zotabet keeps your financial records on your device. Nothing is collected, transmitted, or shared.
Information we collect
None. There is no account, no sign-in, no bank connection and no card linking. Zotabet cannot see your real accounts: every figure in the app is one you typed in yourself, and it goes straight into a database on your phone. We never receive it, and we have no way to.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, Zotabet stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- Envelopes — the name you gave each one, the amount you budgeted to it, and whether its balance rolls into the next month.
- Spending entries — the amount, the date, the envelope it was filed against, and any note you attached.
- Repeating rules — rent, subscriptions or weekly habits you set up, with their schedule and amount.
- Preferences — your currency code, which day your week starts on, and whether new envelopes carry their balance by default.
- Nothing else. No identifiers, no device fingerprint, no advertising ID, no analytics events, no record of when you opened the app.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to Zotabet or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
Zotabet requests no runtime permissions. It does not ask for the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, SMS or notifications. In particular it asks for no access to your messages or notifications, which is how some budgeting apps read your bank alerts — Zotabet cannot do that, which is why you enter spending by hand. The Android manifest carries the standard INTERNET entry from the default Flutter project template, but the app contains no code that opens a network connection, so it is never exercised.
Network use
None. Zotabet is fully offline. There is no sync, no cloud backup, no account server, no analytics endpoint, no advertising request, no crash reporting and no update check. Your ledger exists in exactly one place: the SQLite database in this app's private storage on this phone. The app works identically in airplane mode.
Third-party services
No analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting or billing SDK is integrated in this build. Zotabet is built with Flutter and a small set of open-source packages (provider, sqflite, path, intl, collection, gap, flutter_animate, share_plus) that handle state, the local database, formatting and animation. One deserves a specific note: share_plus is used only when you tap “Export this month” on the report screen. That hands a plain-text summary of that month to your operating system's share sheet, and you choose where it goes. Zotabet does not pick a recipient and does not send anything itself. Once you have handed the text to another app, that app's own privacy policy governs what happens to it.
Children's privacy
Zotabet is a general-audience budgeting tool and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data at all, it collects none from children either, and nothing could knowingly be gathered from a user under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). There are no advertisements, no in-app purchases and no user-generated content shared with anyone.
Your rights
Because your ledger never leaves your phone, there is no server-side copy to request access to, correct, export or have erased — we hold nothing about you. Control is entirely local and immediate: you can edit or delete any entry, envelope or repeating rule from within the app, and uninstalling Zotabet destroys the whole database along with it. That deletion is permanent and irreversible — there is no cloud copy to restore from, so if you want to keep your records, use Export this month before you uninstall.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
